Bricks all the way

Where bricks are the way to go

MOC: Sugar City Silo’s

My employer is located in one of these silo’s in the town of Halfweg, just north west of Amsterdam. The silo’s used to be filled with sugar, hence the name given to the area, Sugar City.

The silo’s are a iconic piece of architecture. As it is located right below the flightpath of Schiphol airport, it can be seen by arriving passengers when they look out the windown of the plane as it is landing.

The silo’s where converted into office spaces and now house multiple companies.

I tried to recreate the iconic windows on the side and think I succeeded quite well. Obviously creating the round shape and attaching bricks on the side without losing that round shape was a challenge. But I am happy with the result.
